A Birdwatcher’s Paradise 

If you love birds, Misty Mountain Plantation Resort is the perfect place to be. The resort is home to an incredible range of birds. Every walk here offers the chance to spot something new and exciting.

You might catch a glimpse of the bright and beautiful Malabar Trogon, a favourite among birdwatchers. The Hill Mynas and Lesser Hill Mynas are known for their clever calls, filling the air with their songs.

Look up and you’ll often see the Red-whiskered Bulbul, the Chestnut-headed Bee-eater, and the White-cheeked Barbet flitting between the trees, each one adding colour and movement to the forest.

Larger birds such as the Malabar Grey Hornbill and the Greater Coucal can often be heard depending on the season, if you listen closely. The Common Kingfisher, Large Woodshrike, and Common Flameback add vibrant colors and lively movement to the landscape.

The gardens and forest edges often attract Black Drongos, the impressive Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, and the always cheerful Oriental Magpie Robin.

Birds of prey and waterbirds like the Brown Fish Owl, Indian Pond Heron, and Crested Serpent Eagle add even more variety to the mix.
